Meet the Team

Founder + lead publicist

Colette Mauzeralle

As the founder of Contour PR + Social, Colette offers in-depth knowledge of public relations and 8+ years managing corporate and boutique clientele. Whether announcing the sale of a multi-million dollar commercial property or tempting food critics into a new restaurant, she delivers publicity with punch. As a book nerd from Seattle, her love of the written word also facilitated 5+ years as a freelance journalist simultaneous to her PR career; this unusual insight into both sides of the media gives her clients an extra leg up and has placed her writing in publications including Good Housekeeping and Redbook. A graduate of University of Washington, she is an expert in her field and has spoken to organizations including San Diego Startup Week, San Diego Coworking Week and Dames Collective. Colette also mentors via the Public Relations Society of America, and outside of work can be found hanging in local coffee shops and playing piano.

Maria Salazar

Maria is a social media and public relations specialist who loves building online communities and empowering others to build brands with a story and purpose. She offers a bilingual background and vast knowledge of the media landscape, having grown businesses in industries including food, lifestyle, finance, engineering and agriculture through diligent media outreach. In addition to a passion for PR and a B.A in Communications from San Diego State University, Maria’s love for her home country Colombia and the desire to change the narrative around its history and culture inspired her to create Arawayuu, a charitable fashion brand born in San Diego and crafted in La Guajira. When Maria is not pitching story ideas or growing her business, she can be found by the beach or trying a new restaurant or coffee shop.

Kendell Kadesky

Kendell is a social media savvy Journalism student at San Diego State University. Her passion for writing and helping local businesses gain the exposure they deserve fuels her as she assists with a wide variety of public relations tasks. Whether working on an important research project or an opportunity to show her creative side through copywriting and content creation, Kendell is on the job with a big smile on her face. “Warm and bubbly” (says everyone) with exceptional organizational skills, she loves connecting with the San Diego community. Outside of the office, she can be found writing lifestyle articles for Her Campus (the leading collegiate womens’ online publication) and enjoying street tacos while watching the San Diego sunset.
